Following the debut in December 2020, the Giuseppe Zanotti Icons project returns with an exclusive second drop, with the Amira sandal front and center.

Making its first appearance in Giuseppe Zanotti’s Spring Summer 2005 collection, the Amira has lived through many years of fashion, a style that has transcended time and place. The eye-catching metal sandal features intricate chains encrusted with jewels, crystals, and beadwork. Every single miniature ornament is applied by hand, creating one-of-kind pairs. For the brand’s latest Icons’ drop, the shoe arrives in a stiletto and flat.

“Like true beauty, one-of-a-kind craftsmanship never ages,” says Giuseppe Zanotti. “The Amira—sophisticated, dazzling, embellished—epitomizes my innate approach to design and style. I have always believed that a woman should adorn her feet with grace and elegance.”

The Italian luxury footwear designer has teamed up with artist and activist Laetitia Ky, to celebrate the launch of the jeweled sandal. Known for her stunningly inventive and thought-provoking hair sculptures, Zanotti is not the first to tap into the artist’s creativity. Last summer Ky worked alongside world-famous Marc Jacobs to promote a few bags. For Zanotti, she created a new piece inspired by the Amira.

“For me, Giuseppe’s creations are like wearable works of art—they transport you and lift you up,” says the artist. “I love the creativity behind the Icons project and the chance to co-create with Giuseppe.”

The Amira sandals are available in Zanotti boutiques, on the brand’s website, and in select luxury stores globally. A third Icons drop is slated for June 2021.
