Giuseppe Zanotti Swaps His Famed Futuristic Lens For Feminine Chic: SS23 Collection
Giuseppe Zanotti summons a color scheme in tandem with all things rock-gladiator
Long live the night, and long live Giuseppe. Expanding on his shoe sculpting mastery, the eponymous label of Giuseppe Zanotti celebrates its latest Spring Summer 2023 season with a much-anticipated revival of feminine chic. For this year’s avant-garde edition of Milan Fashion Week, creative director and founder Giuseppe Zanotti subbed out last year’s futuristic lens for something a bit more ultra-glamorized, aka his latest, “Vive La Nuit.”
Dominated by a black palette, Giuseppe’s women’s collection turns up the heat on his design acumen to welcome a color scheme in tandem with all things rock-gladiator – including subtle accents of mirrored silver and multicolor holographic effects. Crystal studded oversize ankle straps balance classic silhouettes, which are reinvented by a contemporary pointed sole. Adorned with multi-faceted jewels and luxury embroidering, Giuseppe’s well-studied display of proportions turns the brand’s favorite sky-high platforms into refined and harmonious styles.
Now for his ultramodern but wearable men’s vision, the focus is on comfort. Every detail has been dissected and refined from complex shapes to intricate materials to achieve maximum wearability status – as seen in the reinvented light and cushiony slide and gladiator sandal, softened by its generous sole and comfortable sole straps.
With a maverick twist and notable improvements, the house introduces the GZ94, the protagonist of Giuseppe’s sneaker world. The contemporary sculpting indicates an iconic double zip and a new sole and shape, launching this shoe as a revitalized and versatile style with a fresh and unedited twist. A classic black patent tuxedo loafer summons a gold maxi chain, welcoming it as an innovative and exclusive style point. In an 2014 interview he shared, “I compare sneakers to jeans, which are the most incredible form of unisex fashion. They both don’t have rules.”
