Givenchy Fall/Winter 2020 Collection

The French luxury fashion house presented an artful, pictorial masterpiece this season.

Through the influences of French cinema and performance art, Givenchy showcased a collection of slim silhouettes that accentuated feminine contours. Artistic director Clare Waight Keller highlighted an aura of empowerment and vigor within the female form this season. Minimalism was the focal point of Givenchy’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection with a Mod palette of various block colors: carnelian, cobalt, black, and red.

The incorporation of furs and plumage emphasized this cinematic glamour, while geometric patterns veered towards contemporary art. The sculptural garments were reminiscent of the neoclassical style of the 1930’s, with constructed fabrics draped over a woman’s figure.
