Givenchy Haute Couture FW19 Turns Up the Volume

In the spirit of couture, Givenchy presented a bold, plumage-heavy collection aptly entitled “Noblesse Radicale.”

Clare Waight Keller continues to polish her vision for Givenchy with her bold and beautiful collection for Givenchy Haute Couture FW19. The designer of Meghan Markle’s wedding dress, the designer has earned pristine recognition as the artistic director of the French fashion house that is Givenchy.

The show, “Noblesse Radicale”, bridges together the past and the future. The collection opens with two piece, floor-sweeping dresses composed of puffier tops and frayed extremities. The looks progress from black and white sleek to wide dresses drowning in ruffles and feathers. The various bodies dipped in silver sparkles are balanced and complemented with neutral colored tailored suits and light pink, form fitting dresses.

The collection is versatile yet poignant. Though the show is composed of such a wide range of bodies, the vision of Clare Waight Keller is clear. Whereas the designer previously embarked on a modern approach to her looks, these looks are elaborate and glamorous in aesthetic. As their Instagram point out, “The threads of a gilded past weave a radical future.”
