The latest coffee table book to add to your inventory is finally being released.
Givenchy’s new catwalk book is composed of written contributions by historian & curator Alexandre Samson, and Anders Christian Madsen of British Vogue, and includes an encyclopedic celebration of the Maison’s classic glamour. In celebration of its 70-year history, the book carries designs from icons including Hubert de Givenchy, Alexander McQueen, and Matthew M. Williams.
Titled Givenchy: The Complete Collections, the fashion tome explores each Givenchy era through a brief overview and biography of the lead designer. Individual collections are presented with short texts examining their influences and highlighted moments, displayed by curated catwalk images. The book takes readers into the House’s beginnings, from establishing in 1951 and its first collection debuted in 1952.
The book dives deep into its signature theme of effortless elegance and classic glamour, previously embodied by its founder’s friend and muse, Audrey Hepburn, as well as other eminent patrons including Jacqueline Kennedy, Greta Garbo, Elizabeth Taylor, Princess Grace of Monaco, Beyoncé Knowles, Cate Blanchett, Julia Roberts, and Lady Gaga. With an exterior complete with the Maison’s logo, the book is in a grey and black palette, with white lettering for the title—creating an aesthetically pleasing addendum to your living or closet space.
Priced at $80, Givenchy: The Complete Collections is now available on yaleuniversitypress.com.
