For Givenchy’s Creative Director Sarah Burton, boundaries between photography’s conventional roles—the artist, the photographer, the muse—have dissolved. In result, American portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz takes a shot in front of the camera for Givenchy’s Summer 2026 campaign, reversing the gaze and reframing authorship itself.

More than a cast portrait, the campaign offers a creative exchange as the boundaries between subject and creator dissolve. Shot by Collier Schorr, “The Portrait Series III” features a few faces of the industry’s greatest professional talents and personalities, sparking an unexpected collaboration. The series celebrates the creative union and partnership featuring Leibovitz alongside model and actress Kaia Gerber, and performer and sculptor Isabelle Albuquerque. Rather than positioning them within rigid roles, Burton allows their disciplines to intersect organically. In this shared space, their individual practices become part of a larger dialogue, one that continually fuels Burton’s imagination and reflects the layered, multifaceted identities of Givenchy women.
