Known for its rich history and savoir-faire, Givenchy has announced a capsule collection titled Givenchy Atelier for the iconic New York City department store, Bergdorf Goodman. Launching October 17th, the collection has been designed with Givenchy’s classic Parisian elegance with notes of American effortlessness. Classic Hubert de Givenchy notes such as bows, lace, and pearls, make frequent appearances on little black dresses, jackets, tops, suits, and trousers, courtesy of American Creative Director Matthew M. Williams. In the spirit of Givenchy’s evolving elegance, Givenchy’s Parisian ateliers will nod toward the direction of Hollywood’s golden era.
The collection will showcase a selection of couture-inspired codes and tailoring for both men and women. With a more modern touch, fans of the French fashion house will see daring and shimmering takes on drama and transparency. Thanks to the house’s meticulous tailoring, positive and negative space is played up. The result: black chiffon under black lace offering a ladylike take on evening transparency, and long-sleeved gowns showcasing a dangerously plunging back.
For men, sharp-shouldered tailoring is at the forefront of the collection while still maintaining the fluidity of movement. Evening suits with tones of tuxedos are cut for a more nonchalant allure and discreet details such as 4G. Elsewhere, essential items like t-shirts, hoodies, and jeans demonstrate distinctive details like the 4G tabs and silver-finish zips. The Atelier will present accessories such as a versatile mini Kenny bag and a high-heeled slingback pump.
The Givenchy Atelier x Bergdorf Goodman collection will be available in-store at Bergdorf Goodman as well as online at bergdorfgoodman.com beginning October 17th, 2023.
