Google Launches New Season of Creator Labs

The visual arts incubator supports nine creatives’ views on progress this season.

Google & SN37 are launching the fourth season of Creator Labs, an incubator that aims to highlight the work of professional photographers and filmmakers who are capturing the moment we’re living in unique ways. Another detail is that all projects are shot using the Google Pixel 5 phone.

This cycle features nine artists: Natalia Mantini, Kennedi Carter, Tim Kellner, Josh Goldenberg, Mayan Toledano, June Canedo, Andrew Thomas Huang, MaryV, and Anthony Prince Leslie. They were prompted to create visual essays using the idea of progress as a common thread.

Their work touches on themes such as mental health, motherhood, heritage, and intimacy. Canedo documented her family’s immigration from Brazil, while MaryV celebrated Korean traditions and Huang featured Taoist symbols in his intimate portraits.

Other artists, such as Kellner and Mantini, connected with nature, while Leslie created photographed unifying messages composed with aerial portraits.
