The young actor talks fashion, new projects, and what Celine means to him
After their jaw-dropping Winter ‘23 presentation at The Wiltern, all eyes are on Celine. Led by Hedi Slimane, the luxury fashion house adopted a soaring, electric vibe for their new collection. It’s not just rockstars that love Celine, though. Actor Griffin Gluck is just one of the thousands lining up for Celine, dressed head-to-toe in the brand’s finest. If you don’t know Gluck’s name, you surely know his face. He’s taking the world by storm, performing alongside Pete Davidson in Big Time Adolescence and captivating a teen crowd in Cruel Summer. And, alongside those acting projects, he has just enough time to obsess over Celine’s new catalog of looks.

VMAN: Can you share a bit about your pre-event rituals? What are some things you do to prepare and what do you enjoy most about the process of getting dressed, grooming, etc?
Griffin Gluck: Let’s see, my pre-event rituals are pretty modest in my opinion… I’m a slow mover and hate being rushed so I start early. My grooming artist Sonia always suggests I meditate while she gets me ready, it’s a rare moment of peace and quiet to clear my head and get into a good headspace. At this point, it’s become my favorite part of getting ready and it’s super appreciated. I leave some time before I head out to invite some friends over to share some laughs, blast music, have a drink or two, and celebrate the night ahead.
VM: How would you describe your personal style? What are some staples you typically try to include in a look to emphasize this personal style?
GG: I don’t know how to describe my personal style other than I wear what I like when I want to wear it. Comfort and color palettes are two of the main factors for me, and I’m a fan of melding understated looks with fancier ones. Old dress pants, my big chunky keychain, silver rings and necklaces, vintage streetwear, and a cold shoe game are what I feel most like myself in.
VM: You got your start as an actor at a young age, how would you say your relationship with fashion has evolved? How has your new connection with Celine played a role in that evolution?
GG: When I started working as a 9-year-old I had almost no connection to fashion whatsoever, and it’s obvious from a lot of my early event looks. But, to be fair, I was NINE, and it could only go up from there. As I grew up I began to realize the connection between fashion and self-expression, and my fashion sense evolved around how I felt the need to express myself. Celine took me under their wing a few years back, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the fashion influence they’ve had on me. Without them, I might still dress like a 9-year-old.
VM: As a guest of the Celine show, how would you define the CELINE man?
GG: A Celine man’s clothes and style carry the same principles as his character. And I’ve yet to meet a Celine man with a bad character.
VM: How would you say acting and fashion are connected? Do you find the wardrobe for certain roles has helped you get into character?
GG: Fashion is a huge part of any actor’s life since the characters you play are unique from yourself and their clothes should be too. For me, a character’s style is the first visual clue you get into what kind of person that character is, and as an actor, it helps me to find their voice, perspective, and what inspires them. You get to literally and figuratively walk a mile in someone else’s shoes.
VM: What are you currently working on? Any new projects you can share or discuss briefly?
GG: Recently the second season of Cruel Summer for Hulu has been keeping me pretty busy. 6 hard months of filming, a few more months of editing and post, and we’re just about finished!
VM: As this year ends, what excites you most about 2023?GG: The endless possibilities that are waiting right around the corner.
