In probably the wildest celebrity baby announcement ever, singer Grimes admitted in her cover story for Vanity Fair that she and Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk welcomed a second child together. 

The pair share son X Æ A-12 (just call him X), born in May 2020, and now also a baby girl, named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk (call her Y), born via surrogate in December.  

The musician was being interviewed in her Los Angeles home by Vanity Fair journalist Devin Gordon when Y began to cry, setting up an interesting next few minutes:  “’Did she really think I wasn’t going to hear a baby?’ Grimes just shakes her head. ‘She’s a little colicky too.’ She laughs again and buries her face in her hands. ‘I don’t know. I don’t know what I was thinking,’” reads the Vanity Fair story. 

Grimes and Musk famously began dating in May 2018, and since then have been very off-and-on. Grimes described their relationship as “fluid,” and took to Twitter to announce that since the time of the interview, when then were on, her and Musk are once again off. She noted that despite the turbulence, Musk is “my best friend and the love of my life.”
