Stella McCartney, a true advocate for sustainability, has continiuously stood behind her position to protect our planet. This has been demonstrated in the materials she choses to use for the production of her own personal collections as well as for her Adidas x Stella McCartney collaboration. The newest collection, which is available today, July 15, proves to be no different. McCartney decided on singer and environmentalist Grimes to be the face of her newest collection for Adidas.

The designer explained her choice of the Canadian artist on her Instagram, going on to say, “Grimes is the perfect embodiment of the Adidas by Stella McCartney core values. She is passionate and outspoken about protecting the planet, and a true trailblazer for pushing creative boundaries and inspiring women to unlock their potential in all aspects of their lives.”

The fall collection continues the push for sustainability through a variety of eco-friendly fabrics for the activewear collection. McCartney chose to use recycled polyester made with Parley Ocean Plastic, using these fabrics to design the high-intensity, workout-friendly fabric. The designer is furthering her efforts to reduce her environmental footprint and is encouraging others to do the same. Grimes, a strong advocate for this cause, makes her an excellent woman to be the face of the fall 2019 Adidas x Stella McCartney collection.
