Since today's International Women’s Day, brands around the world are celebrating women in one way or another, and fashion tour-de-force Gucci is no exception.

In 2013, Gucci founded CHIME FOR CHANGE, a global campaign also co-founded by Beyoncé and Salma Hayek with a focus on education, health, and justice for women and girls around the world. The campaign’s partner organizations also include the Kering Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Facebook, and Hearst Magazines. For International Women’s Day, Gucci and CHIME FOR CHANGE collaborated with artist and poet Cleo Wade to put out a series of exclusive artworks, all promoting an encouraging and powerful message of gender equality.

Wade’s poignant yet simple phrases, such as: “We do not change the world when we whisper, we change it when we roar,” feel reminiscent of the Helen Reddy feminist anthem: “I am woman, hear me roar,” which of course can be seen written on signs all over previous Women’s Marches. It’s obvious with Wade’s growing résumé and her empowering messages that it won’t be long before her poems are added to the archive of feminist manifestos.

There will be two outdoor billboards featuring the Gucci x CHIME FOR CHANGE x Cleo Wade campaign in New York and Los Angeles, so make sure not to miss it!
