The 1995 murder of Maurizio Gucci, grandson of Guccio Gucci, will translate to film in 2021 as
Lady Gaga hones her acting chops once more for the role of Patrizia Reggiani - trying her
hand as ex-wife, Italian socialite and convicted felon.
Set to be at the directive helm of Academy Award and Oscar nominated, British filmmaker
Ridley Scott, MGM bought the rights to the film on April 8, sparking anticipation in the
audience as talk of Gaga’s Nov. 2019 casting was queued up again. Scheduled to roll out two
years from the month, the true-crime riff on fashion is scheduled for release Thanksgiving
- Production efforts will be overseen by Scott and his wife Giannina Scott, while Roberto
Bentivegna evolves Sara Gay Forden's The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder,
Madness, Glamour, and Greed into a screenplay for the drama.
If an Oscar nominated performance in A Star is Born is any faint indication of what we can
expect from a Patrizia Reggiani as spectacle chez Gaga, then all other true-crime sagas may
pale in comparison.
