Gucci has formally introduced its top bag of the season — the Borsetto. Already carried by Alex Consani and Vittoria Ceretti, the elongated top handle bag embraces the House’s early inspirations. Its name was derived from the Italian words for “bag” (“borsa”) and “horsebit” (“morsetto”).

The Borsetto arrives in a classic range of shades and fabrics: dark brown suede, soft black leather, and sand and dark brown GG Monogram canvas. Under Demna, the House has recentered the instantly recognizable monogram. Most evidently, the Borsetto emphasizes the horsebit, an accessory that first appeared in Gucci collections from the late 1940s.

With a strong focus on heritage codes, the Borsetto blends the House’s history with a sense of modern ease. It features a detachable strap for versatility and comes in both medium and large sizes.

Consani climbed into a car wearing the Borsetto on her shoulder, embodying the bag’s effortless, on-the-go feel. Ceretti paired the bag with a statement coat and straight-leg jeans. Its accommodating size and contemporary silhouette allow the bag to be dressed up or down.

First appearing in the Spring/Summer 2026 collection, the Borsetto quickly took its place as Gucci’s next it-bag. With its compelling blend of vintage and modern elements, the bag is sure to stick around.
