Gucci’s Pre-Fall 2020 Campaign is a High-Fashion Zoo

The Italian fashion label enlists the wild for an unmatched lookbook.

For Pre-Fall 2020, Gucci invited a few furry friends, as in skunks, deer, owls, rabbits, and a few porcupines to take center stage in the campaign imagery. Atop natural backgrounds, models are seen posing with the animals while wearing Alessadro Michele’s elevated designs. A melding of luxury style with the raw outdoors, this campaign highlights Gucci’s fundamental inspirations from natural ecosystems.

“The pre-fall 2020 collection is the next chapter after the September show.” Michele says. “It tells the same story about proportion, silhouette and, above all, the balance between shape and colour.” Bright colors and androgynous tailoring underscore the Italian fashion house’s latest visuals, ultimately speaking to a more modest and minimal aesthetic than the brand has seen in the past.

Time stops in these photos shot by Alasdair McLellan. Each images captures a naive sense of innocence across a diverse range of models, with women of all ages making appearances. Paying homage to Gucci’s ability to stand the test of time, this campaign showcases the generations of the brand’s legacy while also welcoming a new era.
