Gus Dapperton Directs Music Video for “First Aid”
The video follows the artist’s sophomore album ‘Orca’ and features his sister.
The 23 year-old singer, songwriter, and producer Gus Dapperton released his sophomore album Orca last month, and earlier this week he shared a music video for the album’s lead track “First Aid” which was directed by Dapperton himself.
In a statement about the video he said, “This video was definitely a passion project. From the inception of this idea it’s taken us about a year to finally finish it. I’m so thankful for the team that worked with us on this and so thankful we were able to accomplish this idea during COVID.”
“First Aid” is an ode to appreciating the ones you love while experiencing an internal pain during moments of isolation, and the video, filmed at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom, features Dapperton’s sister Amadelle who also sings on the track. “I would slit his wrists and reminisce it, if it wasn’t for my sis, she’s got heart the size of I-95,” sings Gus Dapperton in the song.
