Haim’s Summer Girl Music Video Is Here and It’s Perfect

It’s a Hot Girl Summer.

The girl pop rock punk band, HAIM, has just released a new music video, ‘Summer Girl’, the band’s first video since 2017’s “Something to Tell You”. The sister trio strutted through the streets of LA while stripping off layers of clothes until a final summer looks of bikinis, denim shorts, and crop tops. The video was directed by a longtime collaborator of the band, Paul Thomas Anderson, who worked with Haim on previous videos such as “Night So Long,” Little of Your Love,” and “Right Now.”

‘Summer Girl’ and its official music video has given us all the summer feels. Danielle Haim, the lead singer of the band, began writing this song when finding out her partner was diagnosed with cancer. She took to Twitter to explain her intentions for this song, stating “I was on tour and felt like I was trying to send positive energy his way almost telepathically. Whenever I would come home in between shows I wanted to be his sunshine – his summer when he was feeling dark. His hope when he was feeling hopeless.” The lighthearted music video is the perfect visual representation of her intentions.

While there was no official announcement of a full Haim album coming our way, we can expect some new tunes from the girls soon. “So excited to start releasing new music as we’re working on it—kinda like we did before our first album. we finished this song a couple of weeks ago and thought, why don’t we shoot something real quick and release it”, Danielle said on the bands official Instagram page. The song originated as a “garage band demo”, and has transformed into a single and spontaneous music video. Total summer vibes!
