As of 2018, an overflow of sequins have been sprawled across every crevice of fashion and its undeniable influence is due to Michael Halpern. Since graduating from Central Saint Martins MA in 2016, the designer has been on a sartorial hot streak converting the mundane into a revival of all things disco-glam. While he may only be on his third collection to date, the designer is hellbent on banishing archaic fashion rules and instead proposing a new dress code that involves vibrant jewel tones, '80s silhouettes, and heaps of sequins.

This season, Halpern brought the '80s power-woman back to the runway as models donned broad shouldered blazers, high-neck tops, gleaming high-waisted trousers, and a bounty of metallic boots. As a newcomer to the fashion scene, Halpern is still carefully honing his craft, and his fellow devotees will be patiently waiting to see how he adapts his designs overtime.
