“Surprise!” This was how Halsey captioned her Instagram post announcing her pregnancy earlier today. The 26 year-old “Graveyard” singer revealed that she’s expecting her first child with screenwriter Alev Aydin, who she tagged in the series of pictures.

The announcement was made through a trio of maternity pictures which featured the singer showing off her baby bump. Surrounded by draped sheets and nature, Halsey simply donned a crochet rainbow bikini top and jeans in the pictures taken by photographer Sam Dameshek.

The baby’s father, Aydin, commented on the post saying “Heart so full, I love you, sweetness” to which she responded with “I love you!!!!! And I love this mini human already!” The photos have already garnered almost 3.5 million likes in just over two hours (as of writing).

Halsey previously spoke about her struggles with pregnancy and fears about raising a family. In her Manic album notes, she wrote about the different options for having a baby that she’d thought of. “Then one day my OB-GYN tells me it’s looking like I maybe can, and I was so moved. It felt like this ascension into a different kind of womanhood,” she wrote. She even spoke in interviews about having suffered a miscarriage, being diagnosed with endometriosis, and the toll it took on her.
