H&M Studio’s Holiday 2023 Capsule takes a spin on classic elegance, wrapped in a big red bow.

Highlighting corsetry, lingerie, and tailoring, the new collection is inspired by antique undergarments and the raw structures of Brutalist architecture, combining luxury dresses with sophisticated suiting.

“Timeless dressing and an enduring sense of sophistication defines the H&M Studio Holiday Capsule. We wanted to play around with corsetry, but also revitalize favourite styles like the bias-cut slip dress and the sculptural blazer, all in enduring fabrics that age beautifully and will delight and excite for years to come,” notes Ann-Sofie Johansson, head of design womenswear and creative advisor at H&M.

The lineup is made up of textiles in the form of silk and lace, and a delicate color palette. The pieces are meant to take on a day-to-night role, with key items including a voluminous tulle ballgown painted in Christmas red, a blush-pink lace paneled evening dress, and a sparkling mesh mini dress with a peek-a-boo neckline. Lingerie detailing reworks traditional tailoring silhouettes in the form of mesh-trimmed black trousers co-ordinating with a cropped corset top and slouchy blazer. Accessory offerings present a bold contrast, with geometric jewelry pieces made from recycled aluminum, and minimal strappy sandals.

“Poetic and sensual, this characterful collection balances feminine dresses in lace, tulle and silk with more masculine oversized tailoring, for a modern eveningwear formula,” says Kathrin Deutsch, collection designer at H&M Studio.

In line with H&M’s brand identity, the majority of fabrics are made from more sustainably sourced materials including organic silk, recycled wool, Lenzing EcoVero™ viscose, and sequins made from recycled polyester.

The H&M Studio Holiday Capsule will be available in selected stores and at hm.com beginning December 7th.
