Only a few weeks ahead of the awaited Met Gala, which will honor the legacy of late icon Karl Lagerfeld, the House of KARL LAGERFELD releases a Pre-Fall 2023 womenswear collection inspired by the designer’s archives. In particular, the collection breathes life into Lagerfeld’s legendary sketches, infusing them with a contemporary spirit. Each piece seems to be a representation of his great imagination, suddenly bringing us back to his unprecedented genius.

Hun Kim, the Design Director of KARL LAGERFELD, has dedicated the past few years to honoring Lagerfeld’s heritage and revisiting some of his most iconic pieces. For this season, Kim introduced The Ultimate Icon Collection, which blends the past, present and future, giving new life to Lagerfeld’s original silhouettes and contributing to the collective memory of the beloved designer. 

Embracing the latest fashion trends and moods, Kim’s designs are embellished with unique embroideries, bespoke trims, and bold prints. When it comes to dresses, Kim has crafted impactful and fierce shapes for both draped and fluid silhouettes. The fil rouge of the collection? The versatility of each piece, which allows the wearer to transition seamlessly from day to night, carrying over the same radiant halo of energy. For example, Kim has paired up jacquard wide-leg pants with a double-breasted jacket, for a combo that would shine in both your daytime meetings and evening soirees.

Finally, the KARL accessory brings an additional twist of luxury to the collection, offering multiple colors and materials to choose from. Perhaps the main piece of the season is the new K/ARCHIVE FAN bag, which features the signature shape of the archive fan as hardware embellishment. Just like the bag itself, the fan motif elegantly intertwines vintage qualities with a modern sensibility. It is repeated throughout the K/ARCHIVE FAN line, which includes earrings, pendants, bracelets, and brooches, all in luxurious gold.
