How Up-and-Coming Model Aga Wojtasik Navigates the Modeling Industry
“I try to be the most positive version of myself. It’s very important because you have to stand out from the crowd.”
Regarded as one of the most competitive industries in the market, modeling has been one of the coveted career paths that young women from all over the world continue to relentlessly pursue despite its challenges. In New York alone, a single casting call can yield up to hundreds of eager models, and yet only few get the job. Still, there are those who were born for these types of opportunities. Take New York Model Management’s Aga Wojtasik. Having modeled since she was just 15, she’s spent the last eight years of her life perfecting her art in front of the camera. With experience in modeling globally across Europe and Asia, she’s been fortunate to work with mega brands and designers like Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Issey Miyake, French Connection and Uniqlo. Across all of these unique and diverse opportunities, Wojtasik has learned one universal value that has transcended every job she’s had and it all comes down to energy.
Having worked with famed photographers, casting directors, and countless other talent, across every experience, Wojtasik quickly perceived the importance of bringing good energy to set. Regardless of whatever she might be feeling internally, while on set, she’s able to solely focus on showcasing the best version of herself in order to get the right shots.
“I try to be the most positive version of myself. It’s very important because you have to stand out from the crowd,” Wojtasik says. “People love to work with people they like, so many times, my personality and simply being nice to everyone helped me rebook jobs.”
And while this valuable lesson has undoubtedly contributed to achieving the right looks and shots for various shoots, to Wojtasik, it’s also about positioning oneself for even greater opportunity. Mindful of the fact that people remember other people’s energy, the rising model is adamant about sharing her outgoing and friendly personality even when she’s not in front of the camera because as she says, “you never know who you’ll meet and what opportunities it could lead to.”
Despite already having worked with so many illustrious names and designers of the industry, currently, Wojtasik has even bigger goals set for herself. As the pandemic continues to dissipate, she looks forward to taking on even more work with hopes of walking in more fashion shows. Living in New York in one of the biggest meccas for fashion and modeling, she aspires to walking in the sought-after shows of New York Fashion Week.
“At the moment, I’m just looking forward to continuing work and building my network within the community of the industry,” she says. “I feel very fortunate thus far to have already worked with the teams and photographers that I once aspired to work and collaborate with.”
