Hunter Schafer is The New Face for SHISEIDO

Euphoria star Hunter Schafer is the new Global Brand Ambassador for SHISEIDO!
The 21-year-old actress, known for her debut as Jules on HBO’s Euphoria, recently landed a new role with the Japanese beauty brand, with her first campaign appearance coming out in 2021.
For Schafer, this role perfectly aligns with her values. “When I look at SHISEIDO, I see a level of artistic energy that is really unique,” the actress said in a press release. “As someone who likes to be artistic with makeup, that was something that instantly attracted me to the brand. SHISEIDO is about more than trying to look pretty or appeal to a specific standard of beauty. SHISEIDO is parallel to art.”
Outside of Hollywood, Schafer has a multi-faceted career, starting as a contributing artist for Rookie magazine at the age of 15. During her time at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, she was named a finalist in the National Young Arts Foundation Competition. That same year, she earned a spot on Teen Vogue’s 21 Under 21 list in 2017. Schafer also segued into the fashion world, walking for renowned brands such as Dior, Rick Owens, Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, and many more.
When talking about Schafer’s new position, SHISEIDO’s global artistic director James Boehmer says, “She really represents the current zeitgeist of beauty in that there are no rules, no boundaries, and no restrictions. Similar to SHISEIDO, Hunter is both modern and timeless. She continues to write her own narrative, which is what we encourage people to do with makeup.”
By partnering with the brand, the actress hopes to bring more visibility to the beauty community. “I want to bring more visibility to the notion that you can move beyond one beauty ideal or standard. I’m about leveling up and finding your own frequency in makeup,” she explained.
