Inez and Vinoodh’s New Show Comprises all Their Most Beautiful Photos

The larger-than-life exhibit “Inez & Vinoodh: Hi-Lo Transformers” is up now at the Palazzo Reale in Milan

Beginning October 31st at the Palazzo Reale in Milan, Dutch photographic duo and longtime V collaborators Inez & Vinoodh are putting some of their best work on display for the public to view in an immersive new exhibition. Organized by Italian curator and writer Francesco Bonami, the Inez & Vinoodh: Hi-Lo Transformers exhibit comprises an expansive collection of large-scale prints by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Ranging from portraits, still lifes, and fashion shoots, the exhibition analyzes the remarkable aesthetic of Inez & Vinoodh and their use of storytelling through images. Playing with illusions and distortions, the featured work embodies their incorporation of artistic quirks while evoking layers of emotion with minimal modification and stagecraft.

The duo specifically holds a power in expressing deep emotion in their subjects through subtle, yet dreamy stand-out portrait work. The exhibition aims to immerse guests inside the aesthetics of Inez & Vinoodh’s work by using giant billboard prints that are hand-painted to appear as paintings suspended throughout the rooms of an old-world Milanese palace.

Inez & Vinoodh: Hi-Lo Transformers is on display from October 31 until November 13
