Instagram Launches a New Co-Watching Feature to Help Users Connect
You can now scroll through Instagram with your friends using the new co-watching feature.
Instagram has launched a new co-watching feature that allows users to scroll through IG with friends, family, and significant others. The brand new feature allows you to share screens, feeds, and bookmarked posts, making it so much easier to share all of your favorite content.
Co-watching has been in development for over a year but Instagram has launched it now in response to the Covid 19 pandemic. With so many places on lockdown and people across the globe in quarantine, connecting digitally is paramount. In a statement, Instagram said, “To help people stay connected, we’ve launched media sharing, a new feature that allows you to view Instagram posts together with your friends over video chat.” It’s super easy to you, “start a video chat by tapping the video chat icon in the Direct inbox or in an existing Direct thread, then view saved, liked and suggested photos/videos by tapping the photo icon in the bottom left corner in an ongoing video chat.” As if we needed another excuse to dive headfirst into an Instagram hole.
This new feature is the second big thing to happen to Instragam this week. On Monday V cover star Miley Cyrus, launched a brand new show, Bright Minded via IG stories. Channeling her creative energy, Bright Minded sees Cyrus talk to celebrity friends, idols, demonstrate makeup tutorials, and give advice/support to all of her fans. New episodes air daily, Monday to Friday and so far guests have included Hilary Duff, Paris Hilton, Demi Lovato and Nicole Richie, to name just a few.
Instagram Co-Watching is available now, so start sharing.
