Isabel Marant Spring/Summer 2022 is Parisian Chic Personified

The dynamic collection reinvigorated signature Marant styles through graphic prints and effortless styling.

Isabel Marant has her heart set on travel. Dubbed as the Queen of Parisian Chic, Marant presented an energetic collection that continued her rightful reign while also fusing elements of swimwear, utilitarian accessories, and playful prints.

Staged at the sprawling Palais Royal, models clad in revitalized sportswear hinted at Marant’s desire to move past the tribulations of the last year. Floral motifs invoked notions of far off locales while pastel hues lifted the spirits of fashionable onlookers — something everyone can get behind.

A native Parisian, Marant continued to explore the notorious archetypes of the storied city through the intersection of refined glamour coupled with an aura of nonchalance. Jumpsuits quickly layered over swimsuit tops and windbreakers worn over bodysuits solidified that the Isabel Marant woman will look effortlessly stylish in just about anything.

Equal parts whimsical and wearable, the collection hinted at a wider return to elasticized waists and oversized silhouettes that has consumed much of society over the past year. Apart from the occasional slim legged jean or ombre overalls, the collection rejected stringent closures and embraced pieces complete with an overwhelming sense of ease — adjustable straps and elastic finishings are a ubiquitous cornerstone of the collection.

Emblazoned on jumpers and boxing shorts throughout the collection was the phrase “colors of the world,” again hinting at Marant’s underlying urge for adventure. Accessories-wise, oversized metallic duffel bags and utilitarian clutches seamlessly complimented the designer’s travel-focused ready to wear.

Isabel Marant’s fashionable rainbow of must-have accessories and ’80s-inspired silhouettes again portrayed the French designer’s knack for tapping into the zeitgeist of her chic consumers. The only question concerning fashionable Parisians sporting Marant’s slinky swimwear and colorful cover ups for their next getaway to St. Tropez is which of the vibrant color ways and casual silhouettes they opt for.
