Known for their exploration of original fabrics and abstract concepts, ISSEY MIYAKE brings this same innovation to their HOMME PLISSÉ Autumn/Winter 2022 collection entitled A WORK OF ARC. Meant to symbolize the structure and adaptation of a tent in regards to garment construction, this collection features a contemporary approach to framing the body with clothing, playing with folds and creases to create visually dynamic pieces. Original silhouettes are explored in a way that evokes the feeling of movement and fluidity, the folds and pleats of the fabric enveloping to create a sculptural presence in a three-dimensional form. Themes in garment design include ARC, inspired by the form of a tent when held up by curved poles, BOW, which mimics a tarp stretched over and across a tent, and LANTERN, a print series that depicts the glow of a lantern through a tent. With shoes designed in collaboration with WAKOUWA, this collection provides warmth and movability for everyday wear with a modern approach to structure and composition.
