Japanese brand Issey Miyake has just released a new minimalist menswear line titled Issey Miyake Men or IM Men. This new brands comes after the closure of its main men line in 2020.

IM Men’s focus will center around minimalism with an influence on utilitarian style through reflecting on evolving lifestyles. The brand is meant for everyday living that is common in modern life by making their clothing practical and focusing on the beauty of functionality.

The new brand also developed research work of their other line, 132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE, that focuses on recycled material and geometric garment constructions since 2010. IM Men will integrate new ideas and experimental processes in order to make their clothing comfortable. It will feature flat construction that lend itself to simple design, meaning it can be folded and stored in small places. Fabrics will be made with environmentally friendly production from plant-based blend of polyester, lightweight and wrinkle-resistant.

The new men’s brand IM MEN will start with its first store in Minamiaoyama, Tokyo on Saturday, March 13.
