For the first time in its 40-year history, J.Crew is reimagining one of its most enduring signatures. Timed to New York Fashion Week, the brand unveils The Rollneck™ Remix, a limited-edition project inviting five emerging American designers to reinterpret its iconic Rollneck™ sweater. Launching today, the collaboration brings together BUCI NYC, Collina Strada, Eckhaus Latta, Patrick Taylor, and Tanner Fletcher to celebrate the legacy of a garment that has defined effortless American style since the 1980s.

Long considered a cornerstone of the brand, the Rollneck™ is distinguished by its cast-off edges that allow the neckline, cuffs, and hem to roll naturally, creating a look that feels both relaxed and intentional. For this project, J.Crew updated the silhouette with a modern fit, including a drop shoulder, slightly shorter length, and more open neckline, while preserving the qualities that made it iconic. Creative Director Olympia Gayot describes the sweater as the perfect blank canvas, rooted in quality, versatility, and ease.
Each designer was given full creative freedom, resulting in five ultra-limited interpretations that reflect distinct points of view while remaining unmistakably J.Crew. BUCI NYC softened the sweater with a feminine neckline and low back, while Collina Strada introduced lace and layered textures. Eckhaus Latta leaned into experimental stitch work, Patrick Taylor referenced nautical heritage and community, and Tanner Fletcher transformed the piece with a sailor-inspired flap tie.
The Rollneck™ Remix will be celebrated through a New York Fashion Week kickoff event and an immersive pop-up at 75 Spring Street. The collection will be available online and exclusively at the pop-up, with all styles priced at $180.
