Jack Harlow has teamed up with Instagram and KFC to give back to some local organizations within his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Specifically, his philanthropic efforts will be targeting AMPED, The Center for Women and Families, Grace James Academy, Louisville Urban League, and Metro United Way, which all benefit causes close to Harlow’s heart. Between wrapping up his first sold-out “Crème de la Crème Tour,” killing it onstage at Austin City Limits, and performing over the summer at Lollapalooza, Rolling Loud Miami, and Atlanta’s Music Midtown, Harlow has still made time to give back to his hometown.

Earlier this week, the “WHATS POPPIN” rapper made individual donations to each of the organizations, and Instagram decided to match up to $50,000 of what he raises through their nonprofit fundraising tool, which helps The Center for Women and Families, directly falling in line with the app’s initiative to celebrate their birthday. Joining in on the action, KFC, the beloved Louisville-based restaurant franchise, is also making donations to AMPED and Grace James Academy, to help feed the potential of Louisville’s youth.

Each of these organizations helps a different cause – AMPED helps kids and adults who have struggled with trauma write, perform, and produce music, whereas the Center for Women and Families assists survivors of domestic or sexual violence. The Grace James Academy aids African Americans and other marginalized populations in attaining social and economic equality and aiming to eliminate racism through nonprofit efforts. Lastly, Metro United Way fights to get rid of disparities in early care and education, economic mobility, home ownership, racial equality, and public policy, and they do so by using data-driven insights.

“Louisville is more than just an area code to me,” the Grammy-nominated rapper said. “It means everything to me. It’s the foundation of who I am. I spent all my life fantasizing about being someone that could put the city on a pedestal. It’s important to me to keep some positive energy flowing through the city. Things are not easy right now and I feel so privileged to be in the position I’m in. I feel a responsibility to give back and help pave a way for others.”
