Jacquemus has touched down in the states in a major way, recently opening its first U.S. boutique on the streets of New York’s famed SoHo. “The New York Boutique” is a vibrant tribute to the brand’s French and Provençal roots. Located at 143 Spring Street, the new flagship spans two floors and offers a unique blend of clothing, art, and furniture that reflects the creative vision of founder Simon Porte Jacquemus. The result of a collaborative effort with architecture firm OMA, the space couples the smooth aesthetics of minimalism with a rustic, brick and wood-paneled warmth.

The boutique’s exterior showcases the convergence of two distinct New York landmarks: the historic 19th-century brick townhouse and a sleek, modern extension of paneled glass redolent of the early 2000s. The resulting structure boasts an oyster white facade set against the backdrop of the eclectic SoHo fashion scene.
A whitewashed interior creates a bright, yet coherent atmosphere, perfect for showing off the brand’s acclaimed tiny bags. Curved shapes and repeating lines echo the signature Jacquemus rond-carré style, and the open layout encourages exploration, inviting customers to wander through the carefully curated selection of clothing and art. The flooring, crafted from Bourgogne stone sourced from France, is laid in a pattern inspired by the pavements of French castles, blending a Provençal heritage with New York modernity.

The outpost’s furniture is an eclectic mix, featuring custom pieces designed by OMA alongside Frank Lloyd Wright’s 50s wood-side chairs. And in a wondrous case of fashion history, the store’s “slipper chair”ーa Victorian era inventionーwas once owned by Madeleine Vionnet, France’s understated architect of couture.
As immersive as it is chic, Jacquemus’s New York boutique invites patrons to step into a world where the French way of life is celebrated, and the pieces of each Jacquemus collection are eloquently displayed.
