Known for their unique fashion mystique and their counter-cultural cool, The Velvet Underground is one of the most influential bands of all time, as their music influenced many bands after them while slowly altering the musical cultural landscape during their time. It’s no wonder Jacques Marie Mage continues to pay homage to the band and its individual members. Now, for their newest—and final—collaboration, the brand took inspiration by guitarist, songwriter, and singer Lou Reed.

This latest partnership follows Reed as he works on his second solo album, Transformer, produced by David Bowie and Mick Ronson which altered the rock genre for generations to come. Edgy and elevated wrap-around, the limited edition glasses come in a metallic silver monograph box. With a distinct nose bridge and the brand’s innovative 7-barrel hinge, the glasses are accompanied by a custom eyewear case and an exclusive brand-creative commemorative cleaning cloth.

For a select number of purchases, the glasses will be shipped with an official vinyl double-LP of the motion picture soundtrack from The Velvet Underground, a documentary made by Todd Haynes. The campaign, photographed by Collier Schorr and styled by Katie Burnett, shows the glasses in red and pink, resembling those that Reed would approve of.

THE VICIOUS are now available in JMM Galleries, online, and at a selection of fine retail partners.
