Taking all the steps in the right direction, Samsung has dropped its latest lineup of eco-minded accessories with the help of none other than Jaden Smith. The newly dropped Samsung Galaxy x MSFTSrep Eco-conscious Collection is a grouping of limited edition accessories created in collaboration with MSFTSrep founder, designer, and artist JADEN.

Featuring classic Samsung accessory styles made from consciously sourced materials for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip4, Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Watch bands and matching watch face designs. 

With one-of-a-kind designs lifted from the MSFTSrep collections with four bold graphics created by JADEN himself—MSFTSrep Spiral, MSFTSrep Classic, MSFTSrep Snowprint, and MSFTSrep Wavy Rainbow—the product line is green all the way through, as the products have been created with eco-conscious materials, and the packaging consists of recycled paper and card stock printed with vegetable ink.

VMAN caught up with our current cover star to catch about sustainability and the impact of technology.

VMAN: What were some of your initial thoughts when hearing that Samsung wanted MFTSrep to create an accessories collection for their latest round of eco-conscious offerings?

Jaden Smith: It’s refreshing to see a company with Samsung’s influence really care about long-term sustainability and commit to protecting our world. I was excited when Samsung asked me to partner with them on this collection. Together we’re showing consumers that you can look stylish while caring about the environment.

VM: What was the design process like when crafting the items in this collection? Did you incorporate some design elements from MSFTSrep’s newest pieces?

JS: Each design draws inspiration from my own line. I was influenced by the psychedelic movement and the psychedelic renaissance that’s happening in the world right now. You can see it in the number of young people who are wearing bright colors, hanging outside, and spending less time on social media.

VM: With the collection’s concentration on sustainability, even down to the packing, why was this such a passion project for you? Is the topic of sustainability something you like to keep top of mind when creating pieces for MSFTSrep?

JS: I’m passionate about making the world a better place for years to come—it’s what inspires me. I also think designers have a responsibility to create products with sustainability in mind. With each MSFTsrep collection, we’re intentional about selecting environmentally friendly materials. It made collaborating with Samsung easy because we never lost track of our commitment to the environment and were able to combine fashion and technology to show off peoples’ unique style.
