Want to peak into a fashion icon’s life? Well next autumn, you can. Jean Paul Gaultier will stage a revue, a “Fashion Freak Show”, to tell the story of his life and long career. The show will debut in Paris and then embark on an international tour.

The 65-year-old icon recently announced that he is preparing the production set to open October 2, 2018 at the Folies Bergère. According to WWD, the show will “capture other key life moments like the first time he laid eyes on a corset (in his grandmother’s wardrobe); being hired as Pierre Cardin’s studio assistant at 18 along with his first fashion show, and the unveiling of his man skirt in his spring 1984 Boy Toy collection.”

The costumes will be a mix of both new pieces and archival creations. While the cast has yet to be released, WWD maintains that the show will be comprised of actors, dancers, circus artists and some guest appearances.

“It will be a revue based on a life in fashion; the journalists, the backstage action with the models,” Gaultier said. “It’s all about what we know, only with more feathers and glamour.”
