Jessie Reyez Drops Video For “BEFORE LOVE CAME TO KILL US”

The singer-songwriter’s latest video follows her cameo in Beyoncé’s ‘Black Is King’.

Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez released a set of visuals for her latest track “BEFORE LOVE CAME TO KILL US” on Friday, which sees the Toronto-raised, Colombian artist paying homage to the city. The track comes from Reyez’s debut album with the same name, where she dwelled upon notions of love and longing, life and death, and second chances.

To depict those concepts in her latest video, Reyez was under the direction of Claire Edmondson while Toronto serves as the backdrop.

Reyez was also recently seen in the highly acclaimed visual album by Beyoncé, Black Is King. 19 minutes into the stunning film, Reyez appeared during the song “SCAR”, which she worked on alongside 070 Shake for Beyoncé’s The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack.

Next up for the singer-songwriter is a spot on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” next Wednesday, and viewers will get a live version of Reyez’s “BEFORE LOVE CAME TO KILL US”.
