Jil Sander, the epitome of minimalist sophistication, has unveiled its first foray into haute parfumerie with the Olfactory Series 1 Collection, created in partnership with beauty leader Coty. This luxurious range of six unisex fragrances reflects the brand’s core values of sustainability, artistry, and emotional resonance.
Spearheaded by creative directors Lucie and Luke Meier, the collection embodies Jil Sander’s understated ethos. Each fragrance features a minimalist formula of three natural ingredients, elevated by aldehydes and eco-friendly alcohol derived from upcycled carbon emissions. The result? Scents that are strikingly simple yet deeply evocative, fostering personal connection with the lucky wearer.
The collection includes six distinctive scents — Leaf, Miel, Black Tea, Earth, Coffea, and Smoke — crafted in collaboration with renowned perfumers, including Julie Massé, Mathilde Bijaoui, Nathalie Lorson, Paul Guerlain, and Berenice Watteau.
Standout scents include Leaf, a vibrant Mediterranean blend of key lime, cardamom, and Black Krim tomato, and Miel, a cozy honey-based fragrance with notes of jasmine and vetiver. Meanwhile, Smoke impresses with its complex profile of upcycled cedarwood and Spanish cade. The Meiers’ innovative use of carbon dioxide extraction for notes like tea leaves and patchouli further underscores the brand’s commitment to sustainability.
Developed with Milanese and Rotterdam-based design studio Formafantasma, the refillable glass bottles are intentionally imperfect, celebrating natural bubbles and textures. Topped with bell-shaped white aluminum caps, these artisanal flacons protect the fragrances from light damage while making a bold visual statement.
