Joel Osteen Set to Host a Virtual Easter Sunday Service

The televangelist has invited Kanye West, Mariah Carey, and Tyler Perry to join him during this sacred celebration.

Joel Osteen is not letting COVID-19 put his Easter Sunday celebration to a halt this year. The megachurch pastor’s Lakewood Church in Houston is planning on hosting a virtual Sunday service this week, with the cyber attendance of Tyler Perry, Mariah Carey, and Kanye West.

Kanye was reportedly working on a gospel performance with Osteen before the coronavirus pandemic. However, due to the current circumstances of sheltering-in-place, Kanye will instead perform in LA and be broadcasted in Osteen’s church.

As a special tribute to first responders and healthcare workers of the COVID-19 crisis, Mariah Carey is expected to sing “Hero” via webcam for this congregation. Meanwhile, Tyler Perry will spread a message of optimism and love for Easter Sunday.

According to church officials, Joel Osteen’s virtual Easter service will be pre-recorded. Visit the Lakewood Church website to learn more information about this streaming service.
