Travel can be one of the most inspiring things for an artist. It allows you to see new sights and experience new things. This is especially true for John L. Rapisardi, a photographer that has traveled all around the world in hopes of capturing the perfect shot.

Rapisardi currently works in real estate as a senior associate at a global financial services firm in their real estate department. When he’s not busy with his demanding career, he spends his time taking pictures. He’s captured photographs all over the world, including in Canada, Italy, Lebanon, Grenada, and Malta.

“My passions for travel and photography go hand in hand,” John L. Rapisardi said. “I’m passionate about learning more about the world around me, so I travel wherever interests me. While I’m there, I can capture the best scenes and moments using my camera.”

John is enthusiastic about traveling around the United States as well. Most of his travel has been in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. “The U.S. has so much to offer,” he said. “I love how I can see new, beautiful things by just taking a short plane ride. It’s so inspiring.”

Rapisardi has enjoyed making creative work from a young age, and it runs in his blood. He’s the descendant of Mario Rapisardi, a talented 19th-century Italian poet. He worked in digital and newspaper design in high school and won several Golden Circle awards from Columbia University, then went on to pursue photography in college.

“Those Golden Circle awards really made me realize I could be creative and excel,” John said. “Initially, it had been a pipe dream that I thought about while painting with my mother and grandmother. Once I won that award, I knew I could make things my whole life.”

Rapisardi lives in New York and takes photos in the city on his days off. He focuses on portrait and fashion photography and has photographed models from agencies like Wilhelmenia and EMG, including contestants from Project Runway.

“I take my camera wherever I go,” he said. “Since I have a day job, I don’t have to focus on whether taking photos pays the bills. I do it out of pure passion, which is more important than any monetary reward to me.”

Travel and photography go hand in hand, especially for John L. Rapisardi. He plans to continue trotting the globe and keeping his camera by his side as much as he possibly can.
