Previewing the new SS24 men’s collection, Jonathan Anderson and Luca Guadagnino’s short film ‘I Dreamt of Loewe,’ takes place at the David Zwirner New York art gallery. The two-minute film stars Andrea Isidori, Elliott McDean, Malick Anderson, Bruno Krahl, and Adrians Smats, and shows off Austrian artist Franz West’s work.
After falling asleep in the gallery, model Isidori dreams that he’s surrounded by West’s colorful, larger-than-life sculptures wearing LOEWE’s new SS24 runway collection. The sculptures pose and move to show off the structure and silhouettes of the pieces while the bass-pumping music reaches a crescendo. While being a simple hallucination, the viewer can’t help but wish this chic world of well-dress sculptures with crystal-embellished sunglasses was real.
Best known for his work on Call Me By Your Name, the Palermo-born director, producer, screenwriter, architect, and designer was nominated for an Academy Award in 2018 and received the Silver Lion for Best Director at the Venice Film Festival in 2022.
Franz West was an Austrian artist (1947-2012) who combined high and low references to develop a unique aesthetic. West sculpted, drew, crafted collages, and built installations of furniture, cardboard, plaster, and other found materials. With the goal of manipulating everyday materials and imagery, West designed pieces that redefined art and challenged his spectators to interact with his pieces along with other viewers.
LOEWE’s SS24 men’s runway show will take place at 12pm CET on Saturday, June 24 in Paris and live stream on loewe.com and LOEWE channels.
