Junya Watanabe MAN Updates ‘Classic Menswear’ in FW 2021 Collection

Select pieces feature the lyrics of Loyle Carner’s ‘Not Waving, But Drowning.’

Junya Watanbe MAN presented its FW 2021 collection via a mini show at the Comme des Garçons offices in Tokyo. He worked with several renown clothing and accessory brands to recreate outdoorsy traditional menswear. 

The collection is focused on outerwear which includes military-style liner jackets combined with patterned knitwear, and longline parkas made of a range of materials.

Many of the looks feature hats by Mühlbauerwith lyrics from Loyle Carner’s ‘Not Waving, But Drowning’, bags by Il Bisonte, shoes with lyrics from the same song by Stepney Workers Club, and bottoms by Carhartt and Levi’s. Stepney Workers Club’s slip-on shoes feature the iconic handshake logo on the tongue as well as “JWCdGMAN” printed on the outsole. 

The show also featured a roster of musicians such as Emapea, Koralle, Stan Forebee, Saib, and Yeyts. Their album artwork can also be found throughout the collection.
