For the durable, budget-friendly, effortlessly chic staple, UNIQLO is a godsend. And if the Japan-based brand is the capsule wardrobe’s manna from heaven, then JW Anderson is the preppy little blessing we’ve been waiting for. For its Spring/Summer 2025 line, UNIQLO is partnering with JW Anderson to reinterpret those closet classics ripe for a new take, as JW Anderson’s vibrantly preppy aesthetic is poised to reinforce the timeless appeal that lies behind the polo shirts and baseball caps of quintessential prep.
This is not your grandmother’s pearls, and it’s not your high school uniform. This is prep at its latest, a country club chic for the masses. Women’s oxford shirts are painted in the nautical whites and blues of sailboat lore, and rugged polo shirts are cropped into boxy silhouettes for a more relaxed fit, further accented by the electrifying pinks and yellows wrapped around. Straight-leg jeans are embellished with the JWA logo, and their super soft material makes for countless cute fits and comfortable wear.
The blazer, that non-negotiable emblem of prep, has been spotted on the aesthetic’s most famous acolytes. An off-duty Princess Diana often paired hers with slim-cut jeans, and TV’s most darling airhead, Cher Horowitz, made her plaid yellow one a self-defining staple. UNIQLO and JW Anderson now present the Miracle Air blazer, made of high-performance materials that promise lightweight, stretchy, and quick-drying fabrics.
In defiance of the stuffy, often stifling standing of old-school prep, men’s polo shirts are fitted moderately roomy and crafted with a combination of DRY functionality and pique material for comfortable enjoyment throughout the seasons. Available in a variety of four cuts and thirteen colors, the classically collegiate staple receives a contemporary reinvention.
Men’s chino shorts are devised under relaxed silhouettes, lightweight pieces of tailored prep as active as they are comfortable. As for the accessories, nautical bags, colorful socks, neckties, and caps round out the wardrobe with a classically neat bang.
JW Anderson and UNIQLO will launch their Spring/Summer collection on January 9th, 2025 for purchase online and in select stores.
