Celebrating its 20th anniversary and honoring its British DNA, YOOX of YOOX NET-A-PORTER GROUP has partnered up with Jonathan Anderson — the founder and creative director of London-based award-winning label JW Anderson. Designed by the Northern Irish provocateur, the JW Anderson x YOOX capsule nods to the luxury brand’s archives, looking back on familiar themes and codes to create a one-of-a-kind capsule for the e-commerce heavyweight.

Everything — including the silhouettes, colors and fabrics of the JW Anderson x YOOX capsule speak to the designer’s inherent Britishness. Warm khakis, browns and grey create the muted aristocratic elegance; felt loafer mules offer casual, comfortable, chic footwear; the signature bag comes in to complete the look. Throughout the range, male and female looks combine in a conscious cross-pollination — making for a collection that appeals to one and all.

The collection’s corduroy trench coat is truly worth pointing out — touching on an essential element of the JW Anderson’s heritage, the piece brings back the recurring patchwork theme that has been at the brand’s core from the very beginning. JW Anderson has always challenged binary notions of gender, and this literal patching together of fabrics and textures is here to illustrate freedom beyond binary choices. Pleated skirt, shirt dress, asymmetrical lines — all invoke the shared vocabulary as cultural agitators.

This is not the first time YOOX and JW Anderson have partnered up — in fact, JW Anderson was one of the first participants in The Next Talents, a showcase created by YOOX and Vogue Italia, back in 2011. Since then, JW Anderson has evolved into an internationally renowned and award-winning fashion house known for its playfulness, innovation and inclusivity. In 2015, Anderson was awarded both ‘Menswear Designer of the Year’ and ‘Womenswear Designer of the Year’ at the British Fashion Awards, becoming the first designer to do so in the history of fashion.

The 10-piece capsule is slated to land on YOOX in mid-June. Check out the collection images below:
