Italian supermodel Mariacarla Boscono partnered with K-Way in her first-ever collaboration, which launches today. The sporty capsule is inspired by the great outdoors but also draws on Boscono’s own experience of the profound relationship between mother and daughter.

Boscono deeply immersed herself in the design process, taking on the roles of designer, artistic director, photographer, and brand endorser. Her hands-on approach ensured that her vision for the collection was executed exactly as she had imagined it, from start to finish.

The centerpiece of the capsule is a zip-up swimsuit with Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) 50 protection, which can be paired with the collection’s matching leggings for sport or post-swim. The design captures Boscono’s passion for artistic expression and channels her vision into sleek, modern pieces. 

Her daughter, Marialucas, also modeled the children’s piece: a simple, yet playful, powder pink bodysuit.

The collection also consists of a re-imagined Le Vrai 3.0 Eiffel waterproof jacket with a unique floral print designed by Boscono and matching utility belt and bag. 

The model has long admired K-Way, telling Vogue this collaboration came about organically as the brand played a monumental role in her life growing up. 

“You have those childhood memories of your mom zipping you up in your K-Way,” she said, adding that these traditions continue to be a part of her life in her relationship with her daughter.

Boscono’s vision for the capsule embraces K-Way’s history and takes their vision even further with her clean-cut and wearable designs.

K-Way is a French-Italian design brand created in Paris in 1965 by clothing retailer Leon-Claude Duhamel. Duhamel’s designs, including collapsible waterproof-wear that folds into hip-bags, were inspired by seeing people rushing through the streets in soaking wet clothes, uncomfortably lugging clunky umbrellas.
