Karlie Kloss, Emma Chamberlin, and Eiza Gonzalez Try a Met Gala Beauty Sandwich by Iván Pol and Dr. Barbara Sturm

Yara Shahidi, Kate Hudson, Leslie Grace, and Dixie D’Amelio were amongst others who indulged their skin ahead of fashion’s greatest night.

Coming off of more than a year spent indoors, social media stars, celebrities, and fashion industry notables ascended The Met steps Monday evening in celebration of American fashion – its long tail of Western tropes and glamorous shapes, its ever-evolving impact on today’s socialscape, and its seemingly endless parallels with beauty. While Karlie Kloss, Zoe Kravitz, Kate Hudson, and droves of others arrived for fashion’s greatest night, it was surely their skin that glowed the brightest.

Famed aesthetician and creator of the Hollywood-fêted, Beauty Sandwich facial – Iván Pol teamed exclusively with Dr. Barbara Sturm and her latest in ingredient-science based products to achieve the ultimate #STURMGLOW for a night at the museum.

“What made this setup unique is that we created our own ‘Sturm Sandwich,’” Pol told W’s Maryam Lieberman. “They would prime the sandwich, then I would bake it, and then Sturm Dressing was applied for the glow.”

Abiding by his unique ethos of non-invasive, non-toxic facial sculpting, “layered like a sandwich,” Pol and Sturm prepped Kloss, Kravitz, and Hudson alongside Eiza Gonzalez, Charlie XCX, Dixie, D’Amelio, Emma Chamberlin, Barbie Ferreira, Alton Mason, and a short-list of A-list others.

In a deft rotation of Sturm’s squat pots of cream and frosted pipettes of serum, her Glow Facial signature seemed all the more show-stopping amidst the avant-garde of American style. And just as apt, she’s been announced the official skincare sponsor of New York Fashion Week tentpoles, and Western fashion mainstays – LaQuan Smith and Joseph Altuzarra.

“The days leading up to the show are so stressful and hectic that I really rely on my self-care routine as a moment to re-center and find time for myself,” said Altuzarra of his NYFW S/S 2022 outing. “What I have always loved about Sturm products is that they feel comforting and sensual — a perfect antidote to my busy daily life.”

It seems there has never been such a faultless match of style and skin, making the #STURMGLOW a pillar of any runway- let alone the Met steps.
