Karlie Kloss x Adidas Team Up for Spring Collection

A multipronged approach to activewear: versatile, accessible and inspiring.

In a clutch of tangerine hues, meshed décolletés, and track pants that make a foray for life lived off the Peloton, Karlie Kloss unveils her latest venture with adidas: a multilayered, multipronged Spring/Summer 2021 collection.

“Karlie’s passion for sport, fashion, tech and innovation, and her ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for young women…make her the perfect partner in the adidas family to collaborate on a fresh collection that inspires women everywhere to embrace sport, to foster a strong body and mind,” said adidas VP of Design, Josephine Aberg. “Designed with the next-generation in mind, the adidas x Karlie collection delivers the best in high-performance sportswear through Karlie’s unique fashion lens, all while using the latest innovation in more sustainable materials and methods.”

Embodied by Kloss and two of her Kode with Klossy mentees, Alexis Williams and Elysha Ang, the collection finds movement against the mahogany mise-en-scène of megaphones, battle ropes, and water coolers – a retro redux in our time of at-home workouts. And in a series of mountain poses and warrior twos, the trio looks something like the young women Kloss and Aberg envision uncovering the spirit of sport alongside the clothes. “Together, we designed with a clear three-part goal: to make something versatile, accessible and inspiring for the next generation,” said Kloss in a press release.  “I hope this collaboration inspires the next generation of women to use sport to fuel their passions and achieve their ambitions.”

Dovetailing the good optics of an all-female lead design and campaign team, the goings espouse some big ideas of sustainably-sensitive fabric sourcing using PRIMEBLUE and PRIMEGREEN high performance recycled materials – further shoring up a growing chorus of environmentally responsible fashion.

And alongside S/S 2021’s lean activewear, robust design ethos, and Koding genesis, Adidas and Kloss have partnered with tech fashion house, The Fabricant, to reinterpret their collection’s WIND.RY Parka in its digital iteration. Multidisciplinary artists, Ruby Gloom and Blake Kathryn will shoulder the first illustrations of the garment, prior to opening the floor to the entire cyber community who will then unveil their creations at a 3D digital expo, where proceeds will circle back to benefit Kode with Klossy alumni and their STEAM aspirations.
