Kendall Jenner is the Face of Burberry’s TB Summer Monogram Collection
The fashion house launches the collection as an ode to its founder.
In a high-tech age, digital innovation is at the forefront of nearly every industry, with the fashion world skyrocketing towards the top of the list. This innovative mentality is front and center in Burberry’s new CGI-infused campaign, bringing the dreamlike mindset of summer to life with Burberry’s very own dream team, including Riccardo Tisci, Nick Knight, Peter Saville, and Katy England.
The campaign stars supermodel Kendall Jenner, who shot the portraits of herself in a “TB” clad bodysuit from her computer at her home. Photographer Nick Knight shot CGI video to incorporate within the campaign, which was art directed by Saville and styled by England. The computer-generated background, inspired by skate parks and swimming pools, embodies a surreal state that blurs the line between fantasy imagery and reality.
“I really loved being a part of this creative process, watching it evolve from the physical to the digital, blending reality, and fantasy. The collection and campaign are also completely my vibe – that relaxed summer spirit really resonates with me as a California girl!’
The collection is an ode to Burberry founder, Thomas Burberry, with a reimagined logo that features his initials, “TB,” in bold interlocking letters. Tisci – who joined the British house as their chief creative officer in 2018 – and Saville created this monogram with a summer-inspired palette of dark beige, azure blue, graphite, and cobalt blue with orange accents.
“I thought a lot about day-dreaming reverie that I associate with summer, that time when you are drifting between reality and fantasy, and I wanted to portray the juxtaposition of the imagery,” said Tisci in a statement about the print.
In 2019, Tisci launched the first Burberry Monogram campaign that featured tonal shades of the brand’s beige and brown. Now, the TB Summer Monogram collection features lightweight, ready-to-wear printed clothing and accessories in bold new colors.
The pieces include swimwear, bodysuits, leggings, espadrilles, silk scarves, and more. Burberry also used e-canvas, an environmentally friendly material from renewable resources, to create bum bags, totes, and pouches.
To really get in the spirit of summer, the luxury brand even curated a Spotify playlist that encompasses the sounds of the campaign.
The collection is available starting July 1 at select Burberry stores globally and online. It will also be available on the online luxury fashion retail platform, Farfetch, on July 8.
