Kevin Abstract’s Teenage Years Will Hit the Silver Screen Thanks to Shia LeBeouf

Shia LeBeouf just finished a script for a biopic on Kevin Abstract’s coming of age.

Following the acclaimed “Honey Boy,” written by and starring LeBeouf based on his upbringing with a dysfunctional and abusive father, his next move will bring to light rapper Kevin Abstract’s teenage years. A script for the anticipated film was released by The Black List last week, with the title of “Minor Modifications.”

The script is an outcome of LeBeouf and the founding member of Brockhampton’s friendship, which came to be during weekly therapy sessions. “Minor Modifications” will center on Abstract’s life growing up in Texas while struggling “with identity, finding meaningful relationships, sexual fluidity, and his direction in life,” read the official synopsis of the coming film.

While LeBeouf’s astounding work on “Honey Boy” failed to garner major awards this season, it’s premiere at the Sundance film festival and media buzz among viewers earned the film about $20.5 million in box office sales. Given Abstract’s immense following, primarily consisting of Brockhampton fans, and LeBeouf’s talents behind the camera being just as gripping as in front of it, “Minor Modifications” is sure to see award speculation come next year.
