Speculation about their divorce arose earlier this year while West was in his Wyoming house and Kardashian remained based in California. Sources told TMZ that the divorce remains amicable, and Kardashian is asking for joint legal custody of the couple’s four children.

Sources have also said Kardashian was ready to call their marriage quits in late 2020, when West went on a Twitter rant following a rally for his Presidential campaign in South Carolina—he took to social media in the midst of a bipolar episode, sharing stories about his and Kim’s discussion of having an abortion while she was pregnant with North West and taking shots at Kris Jenner, calling her “Kris Jong-Un.” Since then, the couple has remained living separately, sharing co-parenting duties.

The couple first met in the early 2000s, and West made an appearance on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” in 2010, when Kardashian was dating ex-husband Kris Humphries. The pair started dating shortly after West announced his love for Kardashian on his 2012 hit “Cold,” and were married in a lush Italian wedding in 2014. They have four children together: North, Chicago, Psalm and Saint. This will be Kardashian’s third divorce and West’s first.
