Kim Petras’ Drops Music Video for ‘Broken Glass’

The music video for ‘Broken Glass’ comes in collaboration with DJ Kygo.

Petras and DJ Kygo have collaborated once again to produce a cinematic and dystopian music video for their song “Broken Glass.”

Leaning on an abandoned car in the middle of an ash-filled wasteland, Petras sings “And all that’s left is smoke and ash, so let’s keep dancing on the broken glass.” Despite the lyric’s reminiscent emotional echo, Kygo’s track lifts the piece into something even those who haven’t experienced heart-break can access.

The song lives on Kygo’s “Golden Hour” album that was released at the end of May. Both Petras and Kygo have had an extremely successful summer so far. Just last week, some of Kygo’s “Golden Hour” tracks placed high in Billboard’s charts.

Petras made her late-night debut and performed “Malibu” on Jimmy Kimmel, guest hosted by Billy Eichner, Thursday evening. “Malibu” was released as a summer single in May that immediately hoisted attention. The song’s “at home edition” music video featured Demi Lovato, Jonathan Van Ness and Todrick Hall among many other Hollywood A-listers. The music video even received attention from Britney Spears who posted a video on Instagram dancing to Petras’ single.

Last year, Petras released her first full length album “Clarity.” The 12 track album combined R&B with traditional pop-music.
