The latest cover star to our Discover Issue, King Princess, and Fiona Apple have reworked ‘I Know’, a track released in 1999 that appeared on Apple’s album ‘When the Pawn…”. The heartbreaking yet lyrically powerful track has been updated to a more contemporary version for 2019.

The two artists had a great time collaborating together on this track and had nothing but appreciation and praise for one another. King Princess released her EP ‘Make My Bed’ last year and claimed that ‘I Know’ was one of her favorite Fiona Apple songs, “Fiona said everything I would ever want to say to someone I love. Her giving me this song to sing, and singing it with me, is the greatest of gifts”.

Fiona Apple’s last album, ‘The Idler Wheel’, was released back in 2012, but has confirmed that new music is in the works, “We met up and we became fast friends and I came to really love her heart and her mind. She wanted to do the song ‘I Know,’ but it’s not really a duet. So, I wanted her to be able to sing it like a cover, singing to her person.”
